Two Artists, Two Styles

Baby Lemonades Uchigatana Bijutsu (Katana Art) and Whimsical Expressions by Jax Kwok

Baby Lemonade, (Samantha Deebel), was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Her first picture storybook, made at age five, was about her grandma being a witch. Today she resides in Cape Canaveral, FL.

She defines her art as Cosmic Abstract Expressionism and her artist statement: Love and More Love.

I have always had a fascination with Japanese Culture, especially Samurais, Sumo Wrestling and Kabuki. I love watching Akira Kurosawas films and believe I was a Samurai Warrior in one of my past lives.

A friend gifted me a Katana Sword and I was inspired to pick it up one day and paint with it! I really had fun creating new interpretations of texture on canvas. My work is the result of this Cosmic Encounter with a Katana.

Jax Kwok, an acrylic artist, was born in Malaysian and studied in Taiwan. He has been featured in magazine publications and won art awards locally and internationally. At the present time he lives between Morristown, NJ and Cocoa Beach, FL.

He is always enamored with the natural beauty of his homeland geography and the distinct botanicals that thrive there. His passion and unique artistic interpretation of both the geography of the land and the many floras of the gardens, enable him to change the "ordinary" to the "extraordinary" in his expressive paintings.

I only paint subject matter which makes me joyful, because I want the final product to make my audiences joyful as well! My artistic creations exemplify the natural beauty of nature, but with touches of whimsy and the magic of fantasy.

The May Exhibition runs from Tuesday, April 30 to Sunday, June 2. Meet Baby Lemonade and Jax Kwok at the reception on Friday, May 3 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and witness their unique creations.

New Life Mission begins by placing families in group living homes. Then they help families with the basics, from medical care to recovering important documents. Then, they help families to achieve true financial and emotional independence through counseling, budgeting, and career help that includes higher education or training. As families progress, they can move from group homes to independent apartments at one of New Life Mission’s other campuses.

New Life Mission does not accept government funding and relies on donations. It recently hosting its annual fundraising — Community Share and Care luncheons, which had 800 guests across two days, which typically earn a third of the operating budget. If you’d like to donate, visit newlife-mission.org.

New Life Mission also is hosting an open house on May 16 where guests can tour the property. New Life Mission hopes to grow its services as it continues to make an indelible contribution to solving homelessness in Brevard.

Green Gables, a living history museum and community education center built in 1896, is situated on 1.15 acres of green space on the bluff along the Indian River Lagoon. The volunteers of Green Gables at Historic Riverview Village, Inc. reached a milestone with the acquisition of the home and property in 2023. The next stage will be the rehabilitation and renovation of this landmark, transforming this Forgotten Enchantress to her former grandeur. This 127-year-old historic home represents Melbournes Bridge to the Past. Visit Green Gables to learn about the history of the Wells Family, generous benefactors who played a key role in the development of early Melbourne. Their vision and generosity gifted the area with Wells Park, the first Auditorium, the first library, establishing the first high school, and many more projects in the community, all of which have been enjoyed by several generations. Music has been a part of Joe Goldberg’s life since the beginning. Growing up in a musical household enamored with blues and swing, some of Joe’s first memories are of his mother singing jazz standards while his father accompanied on guitar. It was out of these memories that his interest in the art form would emerge and his journey would find its beginning.

After playing and performing with the concert jazz band throughout high school, Joe went on to attend Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. While pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in music, Joe explored his passion for science and math, earning minors in both physics and mathematics. It was also here that he would meet his eventual mentor, renowned pianist Marcus Roberts.
While studying under Roberts, Joe sharpened his skills on the alto saxophone while adding clarinet to his repertoire.

In 2012, after performing the music of Jelly Roll Morton with Roberts at the Lincoln Center in New York, Joe became a full-time member of Roberts’ group, The Modern Jazz Generation. Joe has performed with the group both live and on record, including the critically acclaimed 2013 album Romance, Swing, and the Blues.

From 2013-2020 Joe resided in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he had the chance to learn from and work with some of the best musicians in the city such as, Jason Marsalis, Wess “Warm Daddy” Anderson, Shannon Powell, Herlin Riley, Topsy Chapman, Lars Edegrin, Steve Pistorious.
Joe regularly performs with his quartet and with his 7 piece swing band, Joe Goldberg and the Function.

In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other, the chance to return to life. Two Artists, Two Styles

Baby Lemonades Uchigatana Bijutsu (Katana Art) and Whimsical Expressions by Jax Kwok

Baby Lemonade, (Samantha Deebel), was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Her first picture storybook, made at age five, was about her grandma being a witch. Today she resides in Cape Canaveral, FL.

She defines her art as Cosmic Abstract Expressionism and her artist statement: Love and More Love.

I have always had a fascination with Japanese Culture, especially Samurais, Sumo Wrestling and Kabuki. I love watching Akira Kurosawas films and believe I was a Samurai Warrior in one of my past lives.

A friend gifted me a Katana Sword and I was inspired to pick it up one day and paint with it! I really had fun creating new interpretations of texture on canvas. My work is the result of this Cosmic Encounter with a Katana.

Jax Kwok, an acrylic artist, was born in Malaysian and studied in Taiwan. He has been featured in magazine publications and won art awards locally and internationally. At the present time he lives between Morristown, NJ and Cocoa Beach, FL.

He is always enamored with the natural beauty of his homeland geography and the distinct botanicals that thrive there. His passion and unique artistic interpretation of both the geography of the land and the many floras of the gardens, enable him to change the "ordinary" to the "extraordinary" in his expressive paintings.

I only paint subject matter which makes me joyful, because I want the final product to make my audiences joyful as well! My artistic creations exemplify the natural beauty of nature, but with touches of whimsy and the magic of fantasy.

The May Exhibition runs from Tuesday, April 30 to Sunday, June 2. Meet Baby Lemonade and Jax Kwok at the reception on Friday, May 3 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and witness their unique creations.
