Community Programs
- LEAD: Law Enforcement Against Drugs provides law enforcement agencies with a comprehensive program that empowers parents to keep their children drug-free by offering information and convenient, affordable drug and alcohol tests. These tests produce immediate results in the privacy of the home. In the event of a positive result, L.E.A.D. directs them to appropriate community resources.
- Geonotify™: The Town of Melbourne Beach and The Melbourne Beach Police Department in conjunction with the Public Safety Committee and the Brevard County Emergency Management will be utilizing The Communicator/Geonotify™ System. This automated telephone notifying system will be used to notify the residents of Melbourne Beach in the event of an emergency or disaster. This notifying system will be our first and best method for notifying our residents.
- House Check: When you leave town you may submit a form asking the Melbourne Beach Police Department to check on your house for you while you are gone.
- Well-Being Check Program: This program is designed for any person with special needs to include, but not limited to the following; the elderly, persons with medical issues and handicap persons. If you or a member of your family would like to inquire more about the program, or wish to be a part of the program, please contact the Melbourne Beach Police Department at 321-723-4343.
- Home Security Survey: Upon request, the Melbourne Beach Police Department will complete a home and business security assessments to prevent vulnerabilities. Your police department will provide practical and useful information to heighten security consciousness and create an effective, target hardened environment designed to resist crime opportunists.
