Walgreens (Updated 2/22/2008) Sand on the Beach (former Boomerang's) (Updated 3/27/2008) Chevron Service Station (Updated 11/28/2007) * EVALUATION AND APPRAISAL REPORT - A draft Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) as required by the State of Florida has been completed by the Town of Melbourne Beach.  The report evaluates the existing Comprehensive Plan and determines what changes, additions, and deletions should be made.  The EAR will be the basis of any Comprehensive Plan amendments proposed by the Town during an  amendment process also required by the State occurring over the next several months. The Planning and Zoning Board has conducted a public hearing to review the EAR, and recommended adoption to the Town Commission. On December 15, 2007, the Town Commission held a separate public hearing to consider the recommendation by the Planning and Zoning Board and adopt the EAR prior to transmitting the document to the State. The Town is awaiting comments on the EAR from the State Department of Community Affairs. This work will allow ventilation under the building, eliminate contact between the house and ground or water, and allow for the installation of hurricane straps. Work to rehabilitate the front porch and construct a new porch on the east side has commenced and will be completed in the near future.
