Yard Waste Collection Tips
The following guidelines are specifically offered to provide tips for efficient yard waste collection.
- Carts should be used for both, household garbage and yard waste. Garbage and yard waste must remain in separate containers and will be picked up on designated collection days only.
- Do not bag yard waste. All yard waste must be placed in the carts and will be picked up weekly on Thursdays. Branches and palm fronds should be cut to no longer than 4 feet in length and placed in the carts.
- Small yard waste piles will not be collected unless placed in the carts.
- Place your carts curbside the night before collection with the opening facing the street. Carts must be placed about 2 feet apart to allow room for the mechanical arm to pick them up.
- Your cart should be on the opposite side of the driveway from your mailbox to prevent any damage.
- Stack only large tree branches and palm fronds that will not fit into the containers at the edge of pavement on your property for weekly bulk collection. All limbs and branches must be cut to no longer than 4 feet in length. All trimmings produced by private contractors must be removed by the contractor or an additional collection fee will be charged. CALL 723-4455 TO SCHEDULE PICK UP OF YOUR LARGE YARD WASTE PILES.
- Do not place large waste piles near utility poles, mailboxes and signs or under utility lines and trees.
- DO NOT dump yard waste, recycling or household garbage in vacant lots.
- Keep all waste out of streets, roads and storm drains.
