The Town of Melbourne Beach has recieved notification that all information recieved related to the its Hazard Mitigation Grant Application has been approved by the Florida Department of Emergency Management.
The Grant is for stormwater improvements along 6th Avenue in the area of Harland Ave., South Palm and Flamingo.
The cost of construction is estimated at $600,000.00 of which the Town will contribute 25% or $150,000.00.
Phase I of this work consisted of engineering and permitting services and was completed in the summer of 2008.
Following the execution of the accociated contract documents, construction will begin and is expected to conclude in 2009.
