The Town Commission of the Town of Melbourne Beach, Florida, met for a Special Call Meeting on Monday, September 17, 2007, in the Community Center, 509 Ocean Avenue, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

In attendance were Mayor William Stacey, Vice-Mayor Donnie Price and Commissioners April Evans, and Sandy Wilson.  Absent was Commissioner Paul Guglietta, Also present were Town Manager Jim Bursick and Town Clerk Lenore Milan.

Mayor Stacey called the meeting to order and offered the invocation.  The entire assembly recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

Mayor Stacey advised that the first item on the agenda was the discussion and possible action regarding Resolution 2007-13 certifying the Stormwater Utility Assessment Roll for the Town of Melbourne Beach for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2007.

 

Town Manager Bursick read Resolution 2007-13 in title only.

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF MELBOURNE BEACH, BREVARD COUNTY. FLORIDA, CERTIFYING THE ANNUAL STORMWATER UTILITY ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR THE TOWN OF MELBOURNE BEACH STORMWATER UTILITY BUDGET, FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE: PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION, in title only..

 

Vice Mayor Price made a motion to approve this Resolution, which was seconded by Commissioner Wilson

 

Vice Mayor Price asked if this that this Stormwater Utility Assessment was an annual event.

 

Town Manager Bursick advised that the Town should be doing this each year, that the roll is a list of our property in the Town of Melbourne Beach and an accompanying assessment.

 

Town Manager Bursick stated that this certification should be done between September 1st to September 15th, up to the close of business.  He advised that he attempted to communicate with Brevard County, he was waiting for a return call, he has provided his best estimate, that it is subject to change, for the Commission to approve subject to changing Exhibit A.

 

Vice Mayor Price made an amended motion to approve Resolution 2007-13, to include an amendment to Exhibit A, with the numbers subject to change, based on receipt of assessment roll from Brevard County, which was seconded by Commissioner Wilson.

 

The motion carried unanimously by those members present..

 

The meeting adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
