Special Call Meeting

February 17, 2007

The Town Commission of the Town of Melbourne Beach, Florida, met for a Special Call Meeting on Saturday, February 17, 2007, in the Masny Room, Town Hall, 507 Ocean Avenue, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

In attendance were Mayor William Stacey, Vice-Mayor Donnie Price, and Commissioners Paul Guglietta, April Evans, and Sandy Wilson. Also present were Town Manager Jim Bursick and Town Clerk Lenore Milan.

Mayor Stacey called the meeting to order and offered the invocation. The entire assembly recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

The first item on the agenda was the interviews for a Town Attorney.

Interviews were held as follows:

8:30 A.M. Karl W. Bohne, of Shillinger & Coleman, P.A.

9:30 A.M. Margaret Babcock Napolitan

10:30 A.M. Paul A. Gougelman, III

11:30 A.M. Gary Sack of Reinman, Matheson, Vaughn, Durham & Sack, P.A.

During the interview process, a brief intermission was called. After the interviews were completed, there was a discussion regarding the candidates for the Town Attorney position. The Commission discussed the qualifications of each attorney, the need to have an attorney who would be able to give the time necessary to our Town and to select an attorney with the municipal background to provide sound advice to the Commission.

A ballot vote was taken; Mr. Gary Sack was selected as the Town’s Attorney. The Town Manager was requested to contact Mr. Sack to develop an associated contract for legal services.

The meeting duly adjourned at 12:45 P.M.
